About

Hi, Friend! Thank you so much for stopping by. I’m so happy you’re here!

My name is Alyssa, but my family and closest friends call me Lyss (and you can too!). I am the creator and writer behind this lifestyle blog, and I truly hope this is a space where you can relate to something, be encouraged, learn something new, find inspiration and resources for your life, or just sit back and enjoy.

As a multi-passionate girl, I have a wide variety of interests you’ll find sprinkled throughout the blog. I write about anything from motherhood to reading to marriage to wellness to faith. Basically, anything that sparks my interest! I also share about my day-to-day life from time to time because I believe that simple, everyday moments can lead to great revelations and conversations.

I hope that you find something in this space that helps you, encourages you, refreshes you, or makes your life just a little bit sweeter in some way. So make yourself at home, grab your favorite drink (or bowl of ice cream), put your feet up, and hang around for a little while. I’m glad you’re here!

If you want to get to know me a little better, feel free to dive into the fun facts below. If not, enjoy exploring AlyssaJoyDahlberg.com!

A little bit more about me…

I grew up all over the nation as an Air Force brat, but I’ve lived most of my life in Colorado Springs where I currently live with my husband and kids. Colorado is truly a beautiful place to live!

I married my graduate school sweetheart in 2019 after being a single mom for a season, and we now spend most of our time raising three little boys 6 and under.

Right before having my second child, I graduated with my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. For over two years following graduation, I transitioned to being a full-time stay-at-home mom and eventually returned back to the counseling field part-time because this mama needed an outlet! I’m back to the stay-at-home/homeschooling mom grind, but it was nice to be back in practice for a little while.

I have never been a big fan of coffee or caffeine, but my husband is quite a coffee snob. We have lots of coffee-making gadgets that I have no clue how to use! So basically, if you ever visit my home, I can’t help you to coffee unless the hubs is around. But I can throw together a decent milkshake.

I hate peanut butter. Always have. Always will.

I am naturally quite introverted and feel most refreshed when I get moments of silence, depth, alone time, introspection,  and low stimulus. But I love people and highly value relationships and growing my community.

I have a heart for people, especially those that have walked through painful seasons of life and need someone to come alongside them in their journey toward healing, restoration, and wholeness. Having experienced my own difficult life circumstances, I find that I relate to the stories of many and can offer some hope and validation.

My goal through my writing is to be real, vulnerable, helpful, and encouraging. I hope that this blog is a safe place for you to land and be encouraged!

Thanks for reading, Lyss
